David Howarth
David joined Holy Cross church as vicar in 2018. He studied for a music degree at Uni of Newcastle, which was followed by six years of church work in Cambridge then Wimbledon, and then 3 years of theology at Wycliffe College, and finally four more years working for Christ Church Bromley. David and his wife Hannah met as leaders on Lymington Rushmore holidays, and they have two sons.
Rich Arnold
Rich joined Holy Cross as youth and children’s minister after training at Oakhill on the Youth and Children's programme from 2005-2008. Rich has developed various strands of youth and children’s work at Holy Cross, including Epic and Jumping Beans. He runs Off the Blocks every other Wednesday and also Six @ Six- our 6th form bible study which meets every other Tuesday at 6pm. On a wider front, he runs Sorted by the Sea - a termly Sussex-wide event for 14s-18s. Rich enjoys good coffee.
Sarah Grant
Sarah is the Admin Assistant for Holy Cross church. She has been coming to Holy Cross for 19 years and has lived in Hove for 28 years. She has worked in insurance and as a Teaching Assistant. As well as working for Holy Cross she is a PA for an adult with Special Needs and volunteers at the Christian bookshop Books Alive. Interests include reading, knitting, football and cricket.
Nicholas Carr
Nicholas joined Holy Cross in 1998, and soon after became a warden, in which capacity he has served since. Now in his sixties, he came to Christ just before his fortieth birthday, and remains passionate about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He leads a Homechurch and also preaches from time to time Other interests include watching most sports, particularly football. Jazz music is a particular passion and recently Nicholas took up learning the Alto Saxophone from scratch
Fran Whittington
Fran has been at Holy Cross since the age of 2 being involved in all areas of church life over the years, accepting Jesus as her Saviour when a teenager. She works at a local children’s charity and an accountancy firm and has acted as caretaker, secretary, and hall lettings manager for Holy Cross for nearly 15 years. Fran is also part of the worship team, enjoys singing and assisting leading the music. Other interests include tap dancing, family history and playing the ukulele.
